New Newsletter!
Hi everyone! Jenny and Cindy made it to the store for awhile today. They are going to head home at 4:00 so if you are short on anything for a project this afternoon (as I am) head over to the shop soon.
While at the store, they put the finishing touches on our 1st newsletter of the new year. This issue is full of sales, a party, and classes and clubs for January and February. The classes are all listed in the newsletter and I will be updating the Classes on the website as the afternoon goes on.
It has been brought to our attention that the Blogger email sometimes arrives a day after we post here. Sorry, but this is something we can't control. Jenny sends an e-mail to our regular e-mail subscribers for the super important announcements. If you are not on that list and would like to subscribe, please click here. One way to get notified of blog posts sooner is to follow Quilter's Cupboard on Twitter. Our blog updates are automatically sent to Twitter as well.
Thanks for quilting with us!

Quilt Week in Review
Wow! What a great week to be in Des Moines! The AQS show was a smashing success. Everyone I chatted with was having a great time shopping and viewing the great quilts on display. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our store booth and the Baby Lock Booth. We were packed up and back in Ankeny by about 8:00 on Saturday evening. Unpacking is a process, so please excuse our mess as we take the opportunity to do some rearranging and cleaning as things get put back in the store. If you have not used your coupon from the show, remember that they are good at the store through November 14th.
Mark your calendars now for next year's show. The show will be October 6th - 9th in 2010.

Market Monday
Jenny, Cindy, and Dolores are finishing up at Market today. I chatted with Jenny a bit last night and she is pumped about a few fun things that they have seen. I can't wait for them to get back and fill me in on the fun! Let's hope they bring the sunshine with them from Houston!
The Minnesota Road Show quilts continue to be on display at the shop. If you haven't stopped by to see them yet, it is definately worth the stop. The techniques the designers have used are fun and different.
Our next class list is in the works and will be posted soon. We are working around a few special events so the list is taking us a bit longer than usual. Keep an eye on the website as we will post it just as soon as we can.
Happy Quilting!

We just finished unpacking 11 boxes (that's right, 11! Our poor UPS driver!). We got in 6 bolts of new black and whites, 5 bolts of civil war reproductions, and 10 great new blenders. Ankeny Quiltfest 2009 - Jewel Box Treasures
Believe it or not Summerfest and the Ankeny Area Quilters' Guild Quiltfest are here! For this special weekend Quilter's Cupboard is double the fun, showing off the new store and a booth at the show. The show is being held at Faith Baptist Bible College. Hours: Friday 9-6 and Saturday 9-4.
You will find Cindy at our booth at the show. Be sure to stop in and say "Hi!" It will be worth your while (wink, wink). She is showing off some super cute projects and some fun items that just might jump into your hands. Ever wonder what to do with holiday cards? Find a great wallhanging with pockets to display them with honor. I know my kitchen table will be safe for holiday eating again with this wallhanging at my house!
The store is decked out for the weekend, ready for the repeat visitor and the newcomer to our new home. The new address is 706 SW 3rd Street. We are across from Bear's Restaurant. From the show (except during the parade on Saturday morning) take 1st Street East to SW Cherry. Turn right (South). Turn right on SW 3rd Street. We are the blue house next to Hykes Furniture Gallery.
You may click the title of this post to take a look at what the Ankeny Quilters' Guild has planned for this great weekend.

It's A Wrap Bag or Purse Class
We had a great time in class last night! Cindy taught us how to make baskets and purses from the book It's A Wrap. This is a great way to use up 1/2" - 1" strips of leftover fabric.
Quilter's Cupboard will be scheduling this class again. Stop by or give us a call if you want to sign up!
Here is a short video of Jenny working on her new briefcase.
